So today was Good Friday :)
I felt a sense of connection as a gathered around the table with the family. The Meal: Grilled salmon with rosemary and garlic potatoes.
NO MEAT obviously.
So my dad's sister doesn't usually come and see us...and suddenly she's staying over for easter. Hmmmm...dodgy? I'm not one to jump to conclusions.
She shouldn't try and compensate for my father's failure to take care his daughters. If he can't do it then really...that is it.
Dinner was nice though. It was nice.
It was funny.
Slightly awkward. But nice.
Awkward in the sense that I could just feel it, I could feel my aunts desperation to fill that void she clearly noticed in my sister and I.
But nice in terms of her effort and the atmosphere at the table.
My mum, my best friend, my everythin - truly the most amazing person in the world; she made this day extra spesh for me.
Cant wait to devour those easter eggs on Sunday.
HOWEVER, not dismissing the purpose of the celebration of easter - Our Saviour Jesus Christ rose from the dead and ascended back to his Father.
Good Friday - Jesus is in agony, people ridicule him...as he is crucified.
Palm Sunday - People rejoice as the tomb of Jesus Christ is empty; He's risen from the dead.
I love easter. It is without a doubt the most important Christian celebration. It marks the fact that God gave us a second chance.
John 3:16 - 'For God so loved the world, that I gave us his only begotten son. That whosoever believeth in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.'
HAPPY EASTER
